Throughout the year, various choir activities will be organized: concerts, open-door rehearsals, meetings with professional musicians and June 2025 performance of the opera “The Barber of Seville” by Giacchino Rossini in the BOZAR concert hall. The choir will sing the final performance with the other children from Brussels primary schools participating with their classes in the OperaMus opera project.
Rehearsals of the choir:
Wednesdays at 14.15-15.30.

Rehearsal language: French.
Programme:
September to December 2024:
- Melodies from the classical children’s choir repertoire
- Vocal coaching of the choir members
- Introduction to the theory of music and sight-reading
January to June 2025:
- Learning of the arias of “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini with piano accompaniment and IT application, in order to prepare the live opera performance with a professional orchestra and soloists, which will be performed in BOZAR in June 2025.
Staff working with children:
Lucia Scoca, 1st conductor of the choir and the OperaMus director. Coordinator of the music preparation of many children from Brussels primary schools, participating in the opera projects since 2019.
Marta Jakubiec, 2nd conductor and the choir pianist. Director of Do-Re-Mi.

REGISTRATION:
All interested children are invited to a trial class on any Wednesday at 14:15 to 15:30, at the theatre of the Italian Cultural Institute, 38 Rue de Livourne, 1000 Brussels.
To register, please write to info@operamus.eu, indicating the child’s name and age.
The cost:
- 80 euros from September to December 2024
- 100 euros from January to June 2025. Payment of the second instalment includes the “The Barber of Seville” book as well as the participation cost in the final BOZAR performance.
Payment will be made to the account number of OperaMus ASBL.
